There are numerous standards (EN / ASTM / DIN) for protection against transport damage, which specify the testing of packaging. A renowned German automobile manufacturer approached us with a specification for an upsetting press. Its aim is to inspect the packaging used for transport to the individual plants and to optimise it. The upsetting press simulates the pressure when packaging is stacked. The electromechanical compression testing machine generates a pressure of up to 10 tons. The maximum size of the test samples is 2700 millimetres in height and 2000 x 1500 mm in area. All parameters were recorded and implemented in a customer-specific manner. Due to the specimen dimensions, the testing system is very solid and rigid. High accuracy and reproducibility were taken into account in the design. Of course, the simplest possible introduction of the test specimens into the test room is elementary here. All parameters were recorded and implemented by FORM+TEST Seidner&Co. GmbH according to customer specifications.

The measurement and control electronics DIGIMAXX ^® C-30 is the optimal system for this application. The tests are carried out via the user interface of the "PROTEUSMT" test software, which enables freely programmable test sequences and ramp functions.

A special challenge with this order was the delivery of the machine to the customer's test laboratory. Due to the high machine weight and the low ceiling height, special lifting devices were used, which challenged the know-how of our assembly personnel.
