In their research on construction with fluids, the holistic consideration of systems and problems is regarded as a central task of modern engineering. Consequently, their developments are driven by the understanding of systems through physical modelling. The models and developed components are examined experimentally on modern test benches, such as a dual-mass oscillator test rig.
To map all necessary test set-ups -uniaxial load components in the first step, with the possibility of extension to multiaxial testing in further stage of expansion- the digital controller DIGIMAXX C1000 seems to be a perfect match. To use the full abilities of the digital control system towards accuracy the existing hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic pump was changed to a high performance cylinder with hydrostatic bearing and a power-saving hydraulic pump with sound cover.
